What are Magnets?

A magnet is an object with a strong magnetic field and will attract materials like iron to it.

What is a Magnetic Field? : The magnetic field is the area around a magnet in which there is magnetic force. In the picture to the right, the invisible magnetic field is shown with the lines.

Refrigerator Magnets stick to the fridge with magnetism!

These are magnetic name tags. The three circles that you see are magnetic metals that stick to the black rectangle. These magnets even work through clothes.

The magnet letters allow you to spell out your name on a white board without a problem!

You may have seen these before! The top is Hematite. Hematite is a magnetic metal, and sticks to its hematite friends.
