Persuasive

Types of Writing

Argumentative/persuasive writing can be used to convince someone of something or to challenge an idea.

For this type of writing, you can use facts and evidence that you either research or know in order to prove your point. In addition to that, addressing the points of the opposite side and countering them is a good strategy to include in your writing!

How to Write Argumentatively!

1) State your own opinion/side first and introduce the topic.

2) Add in at least 3 pieces of reasoning for your opinion

3) For each piece of reasoning, you should have evidence to back it up (statistics, facts, etc)

4) Address your opponent's side (counter-argument) and give reasons why you believe their side is wrong.

5) Have a strong conclusion that wraps up and restates your points!

Here is an example of Argumentative Writing!
