Plants

What are Plants?

One of a large group of living things that use sunlight to make their own food. Most plants have leaves, stems, roots and either flowers or cones.

Let's Watch! Videos Explaining Plants

What are the different parts of a plant?

These are the parts of a plant. The root, stem, leaves, and the flower.

The straight green line is the stem of a flower. It connects the flower to its roots and holds it up!

The green ovals are leaves. These absorb sunlight and turn it into food to help the flower grow.

The long arms that you see underneath the soil are roots. They absorb water and nutrients from the soil to help the plant live.

The flower is often the part of the plant that we like to see the most. They can be colorful and pretty, but they also spread the seeds of the plant.

Plants need water, sunlight, air, and soil to survive.
