Types of Writing


With informational writing, you are trying to inform or educate the reader.

This type of writing includes facts and statistics in order to tell someone about a topic. This is useful for communicating information and explaining.

How to Write Informatively!

1) Introduce your topic with a hook (grab the reader's attention so that they want to read your writing)

  • This can be with a fact, a description, a question, etc.

2) Make sure to include facts and statistics into your writing (do research)

3) Explain your facts with supporting details!

4) Make a conclusion (restate your points or give a broader application for your topic)
