The Trail of Tears was the historical event where the where the U.S. Government forced all of the Native American tribes to move to Oklahoma during the winter. Thousands of Native Americans died due to starvation and disease because of the cold.

Who invented the Cherokee alphabet (syllabery)?

Sequoyah developed a syllabary (similar to the alphabet) to help his people read and write.

Where did the Creeks live?

The Creek tribe lived in Georgia and Alabama.

Where did the Navajo live?


Why do we say Native American or Indigenous?

This land originally belonged to the native and indigenous people which is why we call them "Native American" or "Indigenous" people.
