Rules and You

Unit 3

Rules and You

Rules

Has your mom ever told you to always tell the truth, or to be nice? Has your teacher ever told you to be quiet when they are talking? These are rules.

Wearing a seatbelt in the car is a rule we have to follow. If we don't do it, we might get hurt.

Rules teach us what is good and what is bad. We must follow them because they are made to help us be better and protect us.

Being a Good Person

There are some rules we have to follow to be a good person. Here are some:

Honesty

We must never lie. Always tell the truth. By lying to someone, you lose their trust. It is bad to lie - always be honest.

Respect

We must be respectful. This means we should show others we care about them and how they feel. Be kind.

There are many other rules we should follow. These are just some of them. Listen to your parents and teachers, and follow their rules. Always be nice to everyone you meet.
